Construction Updates – August
Read the latest construction updates from our resorts here. In this August 2026 edition, we take you through the latest developments at Waterresort De Fontein and Resort Drentse Weelde. From the completed energy infrastructure and pumping station at Waterresort De Fontein to the new access road and ongoing landscaping at Resort Drentse Weelde.

New access road
Good news! The permit for the construction of the new access road has now been granted. This marks an important milestone and allows us to continue the further development of the resort as planned.
Facilities building
The plans for the facilities building are taking shape. The existing building will be completely stripped and subsequently rebuilt and potentially expanded, so that it matches the character and quality of Resort Drentse Weelde.
Landscaping
The landscaping of the resort is also taking shape. We have now installed 270 metres of fencing with ivy along the rear of phases 2 and 3. This creates a natural boundary and enhances the tranquillity, privacy and overall appearance of the park.
We have also started planting the gardens around the homes. We will continue this work once temperatures have dropped.

Energy infrastructure
An important milestone has now been reached. Over the past few months, Liander has completed the construction of the main infrastructure for the electricity supply. The two new transformer stations are now operational, and the medium-voltage cables have also been fully installed.
With this work completed, an essential basic infrastructure is now in place. The resort is ready for the further development of phase 1 and future expansions.
Municipal pumping station completed
The construction of the pumping station marks another important milestone for the resort's future infrastructure. The pumping station will have sufficient capacity to facilitate the full development of Waterresort De Fontein. It therefore provides a solid foundation for a reliable and future-proof sewage system throughout the park.
Ecology
Preparations have also been completed in terms of ecology. We are operating within the conditions of the granted flora and fauna exemption, allowing us to continue our work without restrictions.
